COVID-19: AWGU LG FIRST LADY WELCOMES MEMBERS OF UGO TOUCH OF LIFE FOUNDATION ON THEIR CAMPAIGN TOUR TO THE COUNCIL




The First Lady of Awgu Local government council, Mrs Uchenna Nwankwo, today warmly welcomed members of Ugo Touch Of Life Foundation, an NGO set up by the wife of the state Governor, Her excellency, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi, on their visit to the council for Community/Individual awareness campaign on the containment of the dreaded Corona Virus.


The Leader of the group, Miss Ezinne Ozoani stated that the increasing rate of cases of Covid-19 in the state necessitated the Community/Individual awareness campaign as as being spearheaded by the UNICEF. She maintained that the group came to help drive home the sensitization to the various communities and wards in the council on the need for people to take necessary precautions as the Virus is obviously here with us.

Some of the precautions include: wearing of face mask, properly washing of hands, observing social distancing, avoiding of handshake and hugging, etc. 
She also emphasized on the need to seek for medical attention when noticed the following symptoms: Persistent coughing, Not being able to perceive the smell of things, etc.




According to the leader, the group will be working with the selected members from different wards in the council, together with the health workers, in the sensitization exercise.

Also present in the occasion are the Local Government Supervisor for Health, Hon Nkiru Okafor, Cold Chain Officer, Mrs Clementina Egbo, The selected members from the 11 wards in the council, the health workers from different wards.



Mrs Uchenna Nwankwo, the First Lady of Awgu Local Government Area, expressed her gratitude to the her excellency, the wife of the governor for such a wonderful initiative as the event came to a successful end.

ENUGU STATE IS IN THE HANDS OF GOD.
