AWGU LOCAL GOV'T IN FOCUS! DISTRIBUTION OF PALLIATIVES TO THE DISABLED PERSONS IN THE COUNCIL.
In a continuous efforts to cushion the effects of the pandemic, the Governor of Enugu state, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, shares palliatives to the physically challenged persons in Awgu Local Government Area.
Handing the palliative of 50 kg Bags containing different food items: rice, noodles, beans, Maggi cubes, beverages, and other assorted food items, to the chairman of the association, Mr Gabriel Chukwujike, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo (Eze ome ogo), who attracted other political heavyweights in the council to the occasion, thanked the people's governor, His Excellency Gburus, for his kindhearted nature and his continuous supports to alleviate poverty and hardship in Enugu State. The Chairman in his passionate relationship with the physically challenged also promised to pay off the rent of their office in Awgu LG Secretariat, procure sets of canopies for them, buy wheelchairs for them, and also buy them a bus by the grace of God. The Chairman also handed a fat envelope of Cash as palliative support to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Also speaking at the occasion, Hon. Ugonna Ibe, the honourable commissioner for Culture and Tourism Enugu State, thanked Eze-ome-ogo for the privilege. He stated that he short stay in office could not permit him to do something for the disabled when he was the TC chairman, but today, the opportunity has come and he is happy about it. He gave the association the sum of #100,000 as a palliative support to the association and in support of the present government, Awgu LG, promising to do more to the association. He also showered encomium to the Governor of Enugu State, Gburugburu.
The Leader of the House Awgu Local Gov't Area, Hon. Richard Chuks Young, "Ana Ama Aka," who promised to support the association, made it clear that the challenges the group are facing is also their challenges and are working out strategic plans to support them meaningfully and will respond to the groups challenges in a very short time after the group are through with their plans.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the occasion include Chief Agubandieze, Hon. Edwin Emenike Ogedi, The Administrator Mbanabo North Development Center," who spoke on behalf of the Development Center Administrators, donated the sum of #40,000 on behalf of the administrators in Awgu LGA.
The whole place was electrified as they were filled with joy and gladness. The Chairman of the Joint association of persons with disability, JONAPWD, Awgu chapter, Mr Gabriel Chukwujike was highly elated as he thanked the Governor of Enugu state, the Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, the honorable commissioner present, and other dignitaries who honoured the occasion and supported them.
He specially thanked the Executive Chairman, Hon. Pedro Okwudili Nwankwo (Eze ome ogo) for his love and supports for the physically challenged persons in the council. He said that his chieftaincy title is Eze Ome ogo but the association has agreed to nickname him EZE OMEFURU ONYE ONA-AHIA AHU 1 of AWGU. He also prayed for him for a higher political offices ahead. And promised that the association will continue to pray for the success of his administration, and the subsequent offices.
The items were shared within themselves as they were all happy, singing praises to the Almighty God and to the leaders.
