*AWGU LOCAL GOV'T IN FOCUS*. *COALITION OF MGBOWO YOUTHS PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF AWGU LOCAL GOV'T AREA.* Review!
Coalition of Mgbowo Youths on Tuesday visited Hon. Pedro OKWUDỊLỊ NWANKWỌ, Eze Ome-ogo, in his office to thank him and His Excellency Gburus on the political appointments he and His Excellency gave to the indigenes of Mgbowo ward, to inform him of Coalition of Mgbowo Youths and their stand on the political happenings in Awgu LGA, Greater Awgu, Enugu West and Enugu State in general.
Stephen Udeh, the leader of the group thanked the Chairman for his humble and humane nature and the way he warmly welcomed them in his office and congratulated on some projects
Mr Steve went further to appreciate the Chairman immensely for the appointments that he/His Excellency gave to the indigenes of Mgbowo ward. He said, "that it shows that Hon. Pedro OKWUDỊLỊ NWANKWỌ has the interest of Mgbowo people at heart. He on behalf of the group also pleaded with Hon. Pedro OKWUDỊLỊ NWANKWỌ to convey their gratitude to His Excellency the Governor of Enugu State on the appointment he gave to their sons, that they are grateful and are solidly behind his administration. "Mgbowo Coalition of Youths are PDP and therefore will continue to support His Excellency Gburus in thick and thin in making Enugu State great."
"It is true that we have been given something, we are thanking you Eze Ome-ogo and Gburugburu for that and we will continue to thank you; but like Oliver Twist would say, 'We want some more.' "
He stated that, "with the latest uprising going on on different social Media platforms where a number of Mgbowo persons were directly and indirectly involved in confrontations, over issues of leadership in Greater Awgu, Enugu West, Awgu Local Gov't Area and Enugu State respectively. We are here to state our position to you, to reaffirm and emphasize an average Mgbowo behaviour and behavioural standard to you. Mgbowo are peaceful, lovely, dutiful and respectful people. Mgbowo people are known for erudition. We are men of valour and great intellect but some of our boys are using this gifts negatively and we are not happy about it and we don't approve such behaviour by those of our sons and daughters. We are here to tell you that we are in support of your government and dissociate ourselves from every unguarded and malicious attacks and writings against all our leaders at all levels, even at the level of councillors. That is to say that we dissociate ourselves from every attack against your government too. This is because we will not make meaningful progress if we continue to attack ourselves. Mgbowo people are known for peace and love and we must live by such virtues.
We must have to readdress our stand and help our leaders to succeed in their individual positions. We are here to affirm our unalloyed support for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi come rain come shine. He is our leader in Enugu State and we will give him 💯% support to succeed."
Speaking further, Mr Steve said, “this visit to your office is to reassure you of the fact that Mgbowo Coalition of Youths are not fighting with any of our leaders and would do everything possible to restore peace, love and unity among our people in Awgu Local Government, Greater Awgu, Enugu West and in Enugu State. We cannot compromise our stand in making Enugu State grow higher than it is through peace building and in following the footprints of His Excellency, Gburugburu. We are definitely disappointed with the conduct of some of our people from Mgbowo Community on social media. We want to assure you that we cannot be a party to any scheme to destroy the peace that we are enjoying at the moment in Enugu State. Gburugburu came in and he came with peace. Let us embrace that peace. This is the summary of our message."
Hon. Pedro OKWUDỊLỊ NWANKWỌ while reacting to the speakers' comment thanked Mr Stephen and his group for coming. He expressed his joy to Mgbowo Community as a whole over the manner they have been part of his Administration. He reiterated that Mgbowo Community under the aegis of Mgbowo Generations Assembly were the first to do 'palliative' across Community level and were the first to invite his office for Campaign kickoff against COVID-19 pandemic before others followed suit. I owe y people a lot. Awgu Local Gov't Administration appreciates your love for my office and would pray for a stronger collaboration at all times."
"Going further, I want to tell you people that Love is something anybody can express but the true test of love lies in it's practical demonstration.
Any love shown to my government is love shown to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, because it is improper for one to love a son and hate his father or love the father and hate his dear son. My advice is: If you are with the son, love the father. Gburugburu is my father and our father in Enugu State, once you are supporting me, our programs and activities, you are automatically promoting our governor, Enugu State government. And once you are demoting our government in Awgu Local Government, you are demoting His Excellency the Governor. So, there is no need fighting our leaders.
Given the negative trend of bickerings online, we will not make adequate progress both as individuals and as government if we continue like this hence why I am giving you people an ovation.
I am very happy with your stand to reinstall peace in our locality.
Also, I want to encourage us to always find meaningful and productive ways of engaging our leaders for the benefits of the people of Awgu Local Government and Enugu State in general. Constructive criticisms is different from verbal attacks. We must understand this.
I love Mgbowo. Mgbowo is more like my Community. I have said this not once or twice. I told them at Igwe Ibe's palace on the day of COVID-19 flag-off that Mgbowo Community is a Community I love so much. Let us preserve that great Community and put it in a good light before the world. I am sure God will help all of us to succeed. I congratulate all of you."
"On the issue of political appointment, Eze Ome-ogo assured them that there are so many things (Political appointments/other benefits) to still come, and that Mgbowo will always and rightfully get their own fair share."
God bless Eze Ome-ogo.
God bless Gburugburu.
ENUGU STATE IS WELL SAFE WHERE GBURUGBURU PLACED IT, IN THE HANDS OF GOD!
IN GOD WE TRUST!
