The Association of Past Ward Chairmen Awgu Local Government Area yesterday, 07/07/2020, paid a courtesy visit to *the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Gov't Area, Hon. PEDRO OKWUDỊLỊ NWANKWỌ "Eze Ome-ogo"* where they pledged their solidarity and support for the Chairman and His Excellency the governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyị Ugwuanyị.

Speaking on behalf of the association was the Coordinator of the group, Engr. Chinedu Udeonu who poured out the unanimous opinion of the group.
His words:
*"We are happy to be here. To show you our solidarity and unalloyed support. This is not the first time we are declaring our intention to work with you or showing you our love for you. We started from Campaign and we won't want our relationship with you to end with Campaign. Last time we heard that you were on health leave from your office, we informed our members and we went into prayers. We are glad you are fully okay. This is one of the reason why we are here. To thank God with you and to say congratulations on your quick recovery. Again, we are ready at all times to come in anytime you want us. We are ready to give you our 💯% support and to support His Excellency the governor of Enugu State to give Awgu Local Government and Enugu State quality leadership. Enugu State is in the hands of God. We are happy with some of the projects you have started, we are praying for you to end well. You will not fail. Governance is a step by step approach. We believe you will get there with time. Just remain focused, don't be distracted. You are our own person, anything you sent us, we will be obliged to do so. . During the campaign, we came in and you saw how we supported you. We are strongly behind you. God will help you to succeed and we will all benefit."*

They were happily welcomed by the Chairman, "Eze Ome-ogo" who expressed his happiness for their coming. He promised that he will work harder to fulfill all the promises made to them during the campaign.
He assured them of his interest to carry them along in his administration and reiterated his readiness to work with them and work with other past administrators.
In his words, *"Awgu belongs to all of us. I am just holding your mandate. It is our collective effort that will make Awgu great. What I am is your servant. The name 'Chairman' is like a title but my true position is your 'servant'. I am ready to serve you. The support you people gave me during the election is second to none. I am overwhelmed by your display of love and support. From the kickoff of the Campaign at Ogbaku ward to the finale of the Campaign at Awgu ward II, you people followed our Campaign team and gave us your best. Thank you very much. Another area that we must concentrate our effort on is in the area of unity of our people and in building peace in Awgu Local Government. With love and unity, we will surely overcome. I want you people to be part of the peace building process and support, as you have demonstrated, every good effort of the Government.*

*Having affirmed your support for my administration and that of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi "Gburugburu", I sincerely thank you. You people are part of the Government already, you know that. Nobody will be left behind. I am happy to announce to you that this is your Government. Congratulations.*
*Again thank you for your prayers for me and for your kind wishes. I am overwhelmed. Together we will make Awgu great. Thank you."*

The event ended with prayers and praises.

IN GOD WE TRUST.
